The BJP demanded 2 - 4% relaxation in cutoffs for students of Delhi for admission to Delhi University. Claiming that the Congress government has not added a single college to the 85 under DU in the last 15 years, Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel said his party will ensure that 15 more state government-funded colleges are opened.

BJP suggest a provision for 2 to 4% relaxation in du cut off list 2013 for admission to undergraduate courses in Delhi University for all the students passing out their class 12 exams from a city school. This would be applicable to all students irrespective of their state of domicile. This can be implemented immediately in at least Delhi government’s colleges in Delhi University.

In order to reduce the pressure of students from neighboring states, prestigious institutions such as SRCC, St. Stephen’s, Lady Shri Ram College, Hindu College, Hans Raj College, JMC  and others can open their branches there. Approximately 2 lakh students pass class 12 exams in Delhi every year.

Spelling out the way forward, the report recommended three DU campuses in east, west and Dwarka in addition to the existing North and South campuses. It also suggested opening up more colleges in National Capital Region through public-private-partnership.
